The International House Certificate in Teaching Languages (IHCTL) is the basic teacher training for teachers of foreign languages. The main focus of the course is lesson planning and teaching, followed by self assessment of the candidate, group discussion, oral and written feedback of the tutor and candidate reflection on the learning process , so that the future professional and personal development of the teacher can be ensured.

Candidates who pass the IHC training get the report of whether their teaching matches basic level required for the teachers of foreign languages.
The training combines online input programme, written assignments and observation of lessons at the IH Belgrade Syllabus School . Observations are done by an IHWO IHC approved tutor.
